Hana, one of Furusawa Onsen's Akita Inu, is featured on the cover of Brutus magazine.

Brutus magazine this week simultaneously published a pair of special editions featuring dogs and cats. For the dogs edition, the cover features Hana, one of two Akita Inu dogs at Furusawa Onsen in the city of Odate, Akita Prefecture. Odate is the home of the legendary Hachiko, one of the most loyal dogs in history.

Furusawa Onsen: Furusawa Onsen inn

Kaoru Kobayashi, the proprietor of Furusawa Onsen, and her sister, Katsura Sasaki, the dog’s owner, are once again in the limelight for their marvelous combination of a ryokan traditional Japanese inn at an onsen hot springs that features an experience with Akita Inu.

Haru, Hana’s mother, is also featured as the magazine devoted several pages to the wonderful family that runs this inn.
